Much of the area from Shreveport, Louisiana to Jefferson, Texas was once covered with a body of water known loosely as the Fairie Lakes. Fairie, supposedly, was a place-name rather than a reference to tiny magic beings. Most of the water is gone but many gloriously beautiful places still exist. And like in times past, the area is still one of the most mysterious places on the face of the earth. Are there fairies to be found?
